- Oversees the daily accounting activities required to maintain the Company’s books and records.
- Directs and reviews the work of the subordinates (including, but not limited to, cash, accounts receivable, inventory transactions, fixed asset activity, payroll, accounts payable transactions, recording of revenue and expenses, etc.)
- Cash Management, including placement and movement or funds in various depository accounts.
- Maintains organized set of detailed records and files to document financial transactions.
- Reviews general ledger on a monthly basis to ensure accuracy of posting
- Produces financial reports on a monthly basis. Submits monthly and annual Financial Statements to immediate superiors to assist in the Company’s decision making activities.
- Resolves complex accounting issues and assists the accounting personnel in resolving financial issues and concerns.
- Maintains financial security by implementing internal controls.
- Makes and implements recommendations to improve accounting processes and procedures.
- Provides coaching and mentoring activities to its direct reports for the achievement of the goals and plans of the department.
- Performs other duties as assigned or required pertaining to the department being handled.
- Directs the development and maintenance of financial reporting systems to ensure integrity of finances based on sound accounting procedures and controls.
- Ensures the filing of mandated government and regulatory reports and remittances.
- Leads and nurtures a work culture that promotes open, frequent and dynamic communication among staff, stimulating teamwork to accomplish desired goals and objectives.
- Ensures that written performance evaluations of supervised employees are completed as required, suggests training needs for growth and development, provides continuous feedback on personnel performance issues, and takes immediate action to recognize achievements and address deficiencies or problems.
- Protects organization’s value by keeping information confidential.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.
- Performs other duties as assigned or required.
Qualifications:
- College Degree in Business Accountancy or its equivalent
- CPA required, or MBA Graduate from reputable school
- With a minimum of 5 – 6 years managerial experience in Accounting
- Experience working with Microsoft Dynamics NAV. Proficient in MS Office applications
- Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Ability to exercise initiative and sound judgment and to react with discretion under varying conditions
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
